1. How does the design that you created demonstrate your knowledge of Magazine Design and the parts of a magazine cover and interior?

The design I created for the cover of TeenVogue Magazine shows my knowledge of magazine design. This shows my knowledge by the placement of the Masthead, cover lines, barcode, dateline, and main coverline. I also sow my knowledge through color scheme and font pairing.

2. In what ways does your magazine connect to the corporate identity of the magazine? What are some design cues that you used from the existing magazine?

The corporate identity of my company, TeenVogue, is everything teen, fashion, lifestyle, and celebrities. I incorporate dll of this in my design. I have Elle Fanning as the main cover photo and main coverline. I incorporated fashion through “Spring Shake Up!” and “Prom Ready.” I showed lifestyle through “Fresh Faces” and “Workout Regime”. LAstly I showed Celebrities through Gigi Hadid, Emma Watson, and Elle Fanning.

I based my entire design of off three existing teenvogue magazines. I wanted the cover to have a simple look, so I used thick and thin san serif fonts. Teenvogue also pulls color from the cover photo to use for the color scheme. I pulled the color from Elle’s lips for the color scheme.

3. How did completing the brainstorming packet and sketches affect your design process?

The brainstorming packet made it a lot easier to get started on the cover because I had already had the coverlines planned out. The sketches weren't as helpful because the placement of the coverlines had to be changed based on how busy the cover photo was.

4. How did you like working with a partner? How do you think working with a partner makes the design process easier and more difficult?

Working with a partner was okay. I was never a fan of group projects and I’m still not. I like to do all the work myself and ensure that it is finished by the due date, so I don't have to worry about anything. Because of this, working with a partner made the project more difficult. We had to work together to figure out everything and to make sure our designs were cohesive.

5. Looking at your partner’s design, if you were to design your partner’s portion by yourself how would it look different? What would you have changed?

I would have done something completely different. I liked my partners design, but it's just not the route I would have taken I would have utilized both pages to put text on and would have had the pictures at the top. I wouldn't have had an entire picture take up a whole page and would have probably changed how the text looked.

6. Describe the ideal partner (co-worker / co –designer)?

I think the ideal person would be someone who has the same interests as you. This person would be easy to work with and would converse with you about the design. I also think the ideal partner would offer constructive criticism.
